Science and Buddhism Agree: There is No ‘You’ Therehttps://t.co/3RTikwap7o — Bright, Shiny Objects (@brightshinytwts) August 15, 2018 https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js
This is so fascinating and honestly touches on one of the most unnerving elements of Buddhism, the concept of no-self. I experienced no-self viscerally because of date-rape drugs and, while it was truly terrifying to have the “mask” ripped off of the concept of self, it also removed many of my deepest fears. I am no longer afraid to die, because there is no “me” to die, and having this assurance causes me to move through the world more confidently. When the worst thing that could happen to you – death – is no longer a threat, because the dissolution of self is no longer a danger, everything is possible.
